Tree of Life is one of the leading suppliers of Organic and Natural Products to independent health food stores in the UK and will now be supplying retail stores around the country with the Yozuna brand. This is a really great stepping stone for Yozuna and we are thrilled to be working with such a well-established organisation to help us get our products out onto the shelves.
Since the founding of Yozuna, Malcolm has been keen to return to the Mthanjara Womens Cooperative, where the original Baobab jam recipe was developed, to show them what has been achieved on the strength of the recipe in the UK as well as to initiate steps to enable the Mthanjara women to supply Yozuna with Baobab powder for product production both in the UK and eventually southern Africa.
Earlier this month whilst on a trip to Zambia visiting family, Yozuna’s new Marketing Manager, Marisa, visited the Mthanjara’s Womens Cooperative to meet the women in charge of the cooperative and show them samples of Yozuna’s Baobab Fruit Jam. The women were so excited to see the packaging and taste how the recipe has been adapted to meet a European palate (which includes a significantly reduced amount of sugar to the original recipe). Supply of Baobab fruit is plentiful and now all that is needed is the right machinery to extract the powder and package it ready for export.
